Alicante, situated at the seaside of the Mediterranean Sea and dominated by the castle of "Santa Barbara", is becoming a popular destination for doing a Spanish course. The excellent Mediterranean climate together with the beaches are the main attractions of this beautiful city.

But Alicante is not just sun and beach. This millennial town has its origins more than 3.000 years ago, attested by its several monuments, churches, palaces, monasteries and museums, most of them located in the historical district known as' El Barrio'. The Castle "Santa Barbara", located on Mount Benacantil and Muslim origin, is an ideal place to enjoy a wonderful view over the city of Alicante and the Mediterranean Sea, especially at sunset.

Alicante is a quiet but also an active city. We recommend to walk along the streets of the historic center and enjoy the atmosphere of this sunny Mediterranean city. The promenade of San Juan is very popular to go out at night, most of the bars are located there.

And for nature lovers, nothing better than to enjoy the following options: the Isle of Tabarca, Parque Natural de las Salinas Santa Pola and the Natural Park of the Rock d'Ifach.

The 'Hogueras de San Juan' (24th June) are together with the festival of "Moros y Cristianos" the most popular celebrations of Alicante.
