Malaga
Malaga, the capital of the Costa del Sol, is an ideal place and one of the favorite destinations for a study tour at any time of year. The geographical location, the excellent climate together with the extensive and varied range of cultural and leisure activities are the main attractive of the thousands of students who arrive each year to Malaga.
Its more than 320 days of sunshine a year allow the student to enjoy the beach in all seasons, good sunbathing and swimming in the sea or enjoy the promenade in any of the many cafes and bars.
In the historic center, formed by a multitude of pedestrian streets, squares and corners, is the street Marqués de Larios, set with numerous cafes and shops and an usual starting point for conducting a route in several places of interest offered by the city. From there you can access to the Plaza del Obispo, where is the Cathedral, considered one of the most important Renaissance monuments of Andalucia.
A few meters from there, in the Jewish quarter, we find the Picasso Museum, opened in 2003 and which houses many works of the famous painter from Malaga. In the Plaza de la Merced you can visit the birthplace of Picasso and near it the Teatro Cervantes, which offers an extensive program of musical concerts and plays. Teatro Romano, discovered in the year 1951, is located at the foot of Mount Gibralfaro from where you can walk to the "Alcazaba" and the Castle of Gibralfaro. From here you can enjoy watching a beautiful sunset view over the city of Malaga, the port and the Mediterranean Sea.
After sunset comes the night of Malaga. The Center offers a multitude of restaurants as well as the possibility of a making a "typical tapas route" in different locals. You can continue enjoying the atmosphere, music and dancing at one of the many locals in the center.
The majority of Spanish schools are located in the residential area of Pedregalejo, about 5 kilometers east of the historic center of Malaga and just a few meters from the district of El Palo, where there are small family shops, supermarkets, markets, bars and cafes among others. Pedregalejo is located in the waterfront environment for a multitude of cafes and bars, where many of the schools celebrate their partys.
From Malaga can be made numerous trips to other Andalusian cities such as Granada, Cordoba, Seville, Ronda, Marbella, Nerja and Cadiz.
Near Malaga are a multitude of natural spaces such as Natural Park Sierra de Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama (45 kms), the Natural Park of the Sierra de las Nieves (52 kms), El Chorro (52 kms) or Nature Park Sierra Nevada (126 kms).
